Our G-Team is made up of some of the most decorated members of The Canadian Field Hockey Community, each player carefully selected to deliver our vision of quality.

Brad Logan #6 (Manager)

ABOUT : Brad is our latest member of The Team, having joined in February 2020 as both a player and manager. Brad left his birthplace of South Africa in pursuit of The Olympic dream and has been a member of The National Team since arriving in April 2017. 
Brad was a part of the team that defeated Ireland in the Olympic qualifier and will be hoping to attend the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

Karli Johansen #14

ABOUT : Karli Johansen is as lethal an offensive threat as she is a defender. As a junior, she had helped Canada win silver at the 2012 Junior Pan American Championship and then captained the team at the 2013 FIH Junior World Cup. She made her Commonwealth Games debut in 2014.

In 2015 she was part of the Canadian team that won bronze at the 2015 Pan American Game in Toronto Ontario, where she scored multiple times from set pieces. The medal was the first time since 1999 the Canadian women took home hardware at the event.

Johansen played in 70 games in her four years with the University of Iowa Hawkeyes. As a senior, she started all 21 games and recorded all four of her career goals. She was named to the NFHCA National Academic Squad as a freshman in 2010 and the Big Ten All-tournament team twice as a sophomore and junior.

Oliver Scholfield #8

 

ABOUT : Born in Canada but raised in the United Kingdom, Oliver Scholfield moved back to Canada for University in 2011.

After taking up the sport in school, he went on to play for English club teams including the Waverley Panthers and Wessex Leapords. At university, Scholfield plays for the University of British Columbia Thunderbirds.

He made his first junior international appearance in 2012 and then went on to represent Canada at the Junior World Cup. He made his first senior appearance in 2014 and scored his first goal in 2015. 

Oli was part of the Mens National Team that defeated Ireland in an Olympic qualifier and is currently training towards The Olympic Games in Tokyo.

Dani Hennig #9

ABOUT : Competing for Canada wasn’t something that was on Danielle Hennig’s radar until near the end of her first year of university when she was extremely surprised to learn she had been invited to a national team camp.

She attended that camp with no idea of how the national team program worked, but left it knowing it was something she wanted to pursue wholeheartedly. She made her first international appearance in 2010 and now has become a leader on the squad, serving as an alternate captain.

In 2011 she was part of Canada’s near-podium performance at the Pan Am Games in Guadalajara and then helped the squad win bronze at the 2013 Pan American Cup. In 2014, Hennig was the Field Hockey Canada Women’s Player of the Year and in 2015 she was part of the Canadian team that won bronze at the 2015 Pan American Game in Toronto Ontario, the first time since 1999 the Canadian women took home a medal at the event.

Hennig played collegiately for the University of Victoria and scored the game-winning goal in the 2008 CIS Championship final.

Fin Boothroyd #20

ABOUT : Fin Boothroyd grew up in West Vancouver, BC. Fin is from a strong lineage of field hockey as his grandfather founded West Vancouver Field Hockey Club.
He has represented BC on the provincial team for several years. He represented Canada at the 2016 Junior World Cup in India and quickly became a mainstay on the junior development squad. He is a second-year player on the UBC field hockey team and is studying business at UBC.

Fin made his senior national debut in March 2019 at the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup in Ipoh, Malaysia. 

Fin recently played in the Olympic qualifier against Ireland and is training with the intention of attending the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

Holly Stewart #19

ABOUT : Holly Stewart earned her first cap in June 2013. She also scored her first goal in that game against Ireland. She suited up for the junior national team at the 2012 Junior Pan American Championship, where Canada won silver, and at the 2013 FIH Junior World Cup. She made her international multi-sport competition debut at the 2014 Commonwealth Games.

In 2015 she was part of the Canadian team that won bronze at the 2015 Pan American Game in Toronto Ontario, the first time since 1999 the Canadian women took home a medal at the event.

While attending the University of Maine, Stewart had one of the best freshman seasons in school history, being named America East Co-Rookie of the Year and to the America East Second Team. As a junior she was second on the team in points with 12 goals and six assists and was named to the America East First Team.

Brendan Guraliak

ABOUT : Originally from Tsawwassen, BC, Brendan Guraliuk was introduced to field hockey by his mother. He immediately fell in love with the game, playing and training out of Winskill Park in Delta, BC.
He made his international debut as a junior division when he played at the 2018 Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires.

In 2018, he also debuted in his first international senior match on home soil against China.

A current player for UBC Hockey Club and one of the next generation of Canada’s men’s field hockey players, 2020 will be Guraliuk’s first full season as a member of the Men’s Senior National Team.
